Jeff Leeke ASCA Level III
Coach Leeke is the Head Coach/Club Director.  He also serves as the head coach for the Avon H.S. boys team.  Coach Leeke began his swimming career with the Warrior Swim Club on the East side of Indianapolis.  He was a double sectional champion and state qualifier for Warren Central High School and was a member of their Runner-up state team in 1985. 
 
Coach Leeke attended Ball State Universtiy where he majored in elementary education and was a member of the varsity swim team for four years. 
 
Upon graduation, Coach Leeke worked for the Warrior Swim Club and Plymouth Swim Club.  In Plymouth, he led the high school girls team to its first ever sectional championship and the swim club to its first ever conference championship.  Most recently he served as the Head Age Group coach for the Northridge Area Swim Association which placed in the top 15 at age group state in both of his two seasons there.
 
Coach Leeke also teaches second grade at Maple Elementary in Avon.
 
Jim Leeke
Coach Leeke (know affectionately as Coach Jr.) coaches the Gold groups for Avon.  He has twelve years of competitive swimming experience.  He swam for the Warrior Swim Club and Warren Central High School.  During his time a Warren, Coach Jr. was a member of three sectional championship teams and was a state qualifier on the 200 medley relay.  Coach Leeke also swam for Vincennes University. 
 
Coach Leeke is currently emploved at IKON Office solutions.
 
Andrew Brelage ASCA Level II
Coach Brelage (Coach "B") arrived at the Avon Community Swim Team in November of 2001 to lead the Silver training group.  During that time many of Coach B's swimmers have advanced to the Gold group.
 
Coach Brelage has 16 years of competitive swimming experience.  During those years, he swam for  Jasper Aquatics in Jasper, Indiana were he recorded 3 Indiana top ten times (in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle) and was on two relays that acheived that honor.  Coach B still holds the SISC 8 & under and 10 & under 25 freestyle records.  He was also a two-time sectional and conference champion for Jasper High School.
 
Coach Brelage attended the University of Evansville where he majored in Mass Communications, Advertising, and Web Design with a minor in Marketing and Sales.  Coach Brelage was a varsity member of the swimming and golf teams at Evansville.
 
Upon graduation, Coach Brelage was hired as the Assistant Golf Professional at Hickory Stick Golf Club in Greenwood, IN.
 
Katinka Wegerhoff ASCA Level I

Coach Katinka Wegerhoff is  is currently completing her Level 2 certification. She has been associated with ACST for almost four years, firstly as a parent, then as a volunteer coach, and presently as the Bronze Group coach and vice-president of the parent Board of Directors.  She has been an official with Indiana Swimming for over 2 years.

 

Coach Wegerhoff is Dutch, but was raised in South Africa where she swam for Western Province as a teenager as there was no high school swimming program.  She currently swims with the Avon Masters Swim Club.  She graduated from the University of South Africa with a B.A. degree in Psychology and Education and then completed a post-graduate H.E.D. specializing in Pre-primary Education. In Africa she was the founder and principal of a small rural school in which every grade-school child was taught to swim as part of the curriculum.

 

The Wegerhoff family emigrated to Canada in 1993 and subsequently mover to Houston, Texas in 1995 where her husband was a Clinical Microbiology Fellow at Baylor College of Medicine.  In November 1998 they moved to Avon and joined ACST after the end of high school swim season in March 1999. Her son, Jeddah swam for ACST until he entered Wabash College this past fall where he swims for the Little Giants.  Her daughter, Mikaela is 10 and swims in the gold group and also dives for Avon Starz.

 

Tracy McVey

Coach Tracy McVey (Coach Mac) is the newest member of the ACST coaching staff and will be coaching the Gold A group this season. She is also the head coach for the Avon H.S. girls team where she was named Sectional Coach of the Year. Coach McVey began swimming competitively at age 8 and swam her entire career with ACST. She has been involved in competitive swimming for over 20 years as an athlete, coach, official and volunteer.

 

Coach McVey is returning to ACST since she previously coached here in 1997-98. You may also know her sister, Joey Duncan, or her parents, Dick and Lucy Duncan, as they have all been involved in ACST and Indiana Swimming for years.

 

Coach McVey attended Indiana State University and has a degree in Public Relations. She is currently working on freelance projects and focusing on improving her coaching skills.
